2016 Tribal Consultations

2015 Tribal Consultations

The U.S. Department of Education held several Tribal Consultations and Listening Sessions in urban Indian communities in 2014 to develop a more effective education policy.

These Tribal Consultations and Listening Sessions were a follow-up to a series of 2013 tribal leader consultations that were conducted in Missoula, MT, Normank, OK, Arlington, VA, Anchorage, AK, and Atlanta, GA.

The goal of these sessions was to provide you with an opportunity to voice your thoughts and engage in dialogue with senior officials from the Department of Education. The Department is committed to moving forward in Indian education and anticipates that interactions among tribal and community leaders, Indian education stakeholders and the Department will create a more effective education policy.
